Movies

Denise has starred in a lot of movies where her oozing sex appeal is utilized, portraying her as the sex symbol of Hollywood in the early 2000’s. This brunette bombshell captivated her fans by being drop dead gorgeous and sexy in the movie roles she has starred in. Although not all her movies were huge box-office hits, she was put into the limelight simply because she chose roles that adequately showed off her charisma and physical attributes.

She played her first small movie role in Loaded Weapon 1, opposite Emilio Estevez and Samuel L. Jackson. She landed her first significant movie role in the 1997 film Starship Troopers. She played a pilot for a massive starship in this science fiction movie about an interplanetary war between Earth and colonies of large insect-like aliens in the twenty-third century. This was followed by Wild Things, a moderately successful cult film. This is the first movie where she bared her breasts. As expected, her sexy role in this film, including a controversial threesome scene with Matt Dillon and Neve Campbell, made her into one of the most desired celebrities in Hollywood.

In 1999, she starred in the appropriately titled Drop Dead Gorgeous and Tail Lights Fade, both of which did not enjoy the same success as her two previous films. But that same year, she was cast as the nuclear scientist Christmas Jones in the James Bond film The World Is Not Enough which had a vey high box office gross. She now had the title of Bond girl tucked under her belt. She was highly criticised as not credible in her portrayal of Christmas Jones. She considered her role as brainy, athletic and having depth of character. But her sexy outfits in the movie, tank tops and shorts, just elicited similar opinions. In 2008, Entertainment Weekly ranked her the worst Bond girl of all time.

She went on to star in Valentine, a horror movie, and in Good Advice, where she met future husband Charlie Sheen. In 2002, she appeared in Empire opposite John Leguizamo and in the hit comedy of the year, Undercover Brother. She also filmed The Third Wheel alongside Luke Wilson and Ben Affleck and starred in You Stupid Man with Milla Jovovich.

In 2003, she had a small role in the romantic comedy Love Actually, starring big names like Hugh Grant and Keira Knightley. She also appeared in the horror-comedy Scary Movie 3. Following the birth of her first daughter in 2004, she appeared alongside Kim Basinger in Elvis Has Left The Building.

After various controversies and problems in Denise’s personal life disrupted her career, she returned to the big screen in 2008 when she appeared opposite Pamela Anderson in the comedy Blonde and Blonder.
